Social Injustice towards vampires and Vampaneze

The world is very judgemental and seems like it will never be able to agree with something. Their has even been wars about peoples beliefs. The problem is that people can't accept each other and always think that they're way is the better way. An example of one war over belief is the civil war because the north thought that slavery was wrong, while the south thought thought that slavery was right. This type of problem is called social change when someone fights for what they believe in. Everywhere there is some type of social issue that gets solved by some type of social change or just never gets solved.

Things like the civil war and people not accepting each other are in my book.l In the book I'm reading, Cirque Du Freak: Lake of Souls by Daren Shan, theres a social issue dealing with what the vampires and vampaneze think about each other. The vampires consume blood by taking a couple of blood from their victims. The vampaneze consume blood by drinking the victim dry which kills them. The vampires disagree of how the vampaneze consume blood, so there has been many social actions, which usually is violence, against the vampaneze from the vampires as well as the other way around. One major war that is going to happen is the war of the scars which is between the vampires and vampaneze and the vampets who don't know who to join yet. Its not only each other they had to worry about in the books before. The humans didn't like the vampires and vampaneze killing and taking blood from them, so they would get any chance to kill a vampire or vampaneze.

Even in books there are social issues and social conflicts, yet in real life and book life as well, there is rarely social change. Sometimes, when there is a social change, there is a social issue that follows right behind it.

World on Fire

The lyrics to the song  World on Fire by Sarah McLachan and her video  is very inspiring and teaches the hardships of people who are less fortunate than us and how the world is messed up and "on fire." I like this poem because its not only powerful lyrics, but it teaches people to get up and do something about these conditions many people are in.

In the lyrics, she says "Hearts are worn in these dark ages. You're not alone in this story's pages," I think that it means that if you have ideas and want to do something for these people, you're not alone. There are many charitys and associations that not only can you join, but donate to. Also, when Sarah says "The worlds on fire and it's more than I can handle," I think this means that she tries to do things for these people, but it seems like she can't do it all by herself. She can't save everyone because its just to much fire in the world.

I think this is very sad because many times I want things that I don't even need like video games and yugioh cards when people are struggling to get things they need. Not only that, but many things are built that probably would cost a lot of money by people for public uses that don't even need to be built and the money could have been donated to help people's needs instead of their wants first. The video is very powerful. All the time, people see many other videos and speeches about how people in poor countries are in need, but it never seems to change opinions sometimes, but this video gives so many examples and really connects to the lyrics making it stronger. It showed how the amount of money for things we take for granted would be very valuable and useful to people who need help.

Mighty Webs

The book that I feel like I need to talk about is Charlotte's Web by E.B.White which is not only about a pig named Wilbur who goes on a life changing experiance where he meets a spider named Charlotte, who is the type of friend that people rarely come across. Their friendship is so strong that it could beat the way of life of why farmers raise pigs.

Wilbur and Charlotte's friendship is very unique. A pig and a spider becoming friends! This relates to the friendship of Freak and Max in the book Freak the Mighty by Rodman Philbrook. Freak, as small and smart as he was and Max, as big and not very interested in learning, made their friendship so different, yet so magical and completing. People usually look for friends who are similar to themselves to have more in common and have the same likes and dislikes as themselves, and that makes Freak's and Max's friendship so unique.

This book is so good because the author, E.B.White writes books for adults and when you read between the lines of books he has published that seem like they're for children, you'll se that there are so many themes packed into this book.

Charlotte's Web kept me in its web throughout the entire book. It showed me that people usually go with what looks more comfortable to them and not check the other options to see what works better, but when choosing Charlotte as a friend, Wilbur didn't care who he had as a friend.

The Titans Curse

The book I'm reading is "The TItans Curse" and so far I've read 36 pages. I like how the author, Rick Riordan, and other authors develop their characters so well. They make it seem like you're talking right to the characters. Also, when the main character is a kid, like Percy Jackson, the author makes the main character talk like they're actually a kid. What makes it even more intresting is that they can talk like a kid whoes churlish and silly when they usually aren't a kid. In all the Percy Jackson books, Rick Riordan never gets lazy with describing things. I can always imagine the scene or a character. Another thing I like about this book is that Percy's character has changed more and more throughout the books. Hes become more confident, gotten better battle smarts, and has been able to make more friends than just Grover. The Percy Jackson books are one of those types of books that kids can actually bet into. Its at perfect level, understandable and challenging, and kids that love action and fantasy will love this and the other Percy Jackson books.
