The Titans Curse

The book I'm reading is "The TItans Curse" and so far I've read 36 pages. I like how the author, Rick Riordan, and other authors develop their characters so well. They make it seem like you're talking right to the characters. Also, when the main character is a kid, like Percy Jackson, the author makes the main character talk like they're actually a kid. What makes it even more intresting is that they can talk like a kid whoes churlish and silly when they usually aren't a kid. In all the Percy Jackson books, Rick Riordan never gets lazy with describing things. I can always imagine the scene or a character. Another thing I like about this book is that Percy's character has changed more and more throughout the books. Hes become more confident, gotten better battle smarts, and has been able to make more friends than just Grover. The Percy Jackson books are one of those types of books that kids can actually bet into. Its at perfect level, understandable and challenging, and kids that love action and fantasy will love this and the other Percy Jackson books.

  1. Nice job. Riordan uses a lot of mythology in his books. Why do you think he does that? And why do you think he creates the main character the way he does?

  2. Good work! I read the Percy Jackson books as well and Percy really does have churlish thoughts and actions and I too wonder how Rick Riordan is able to talk and think like a kid.
